Soothing Christmas Insomnia
|It’s hard to get to sleep on Christmas Eve
If hopes or memories cast a spell on you,
Beckoning your heart to still believe
That dreams and wishes somehow can come true.
When we are young, our fancies can awaken
The years, for some, wear out the magic feeling,
Persistent hopes on fragile wings may hover,
That dreams and ideals formed in early childhood
But there is hope! Recall the ancient story
One much more capable than any other
He who was free of any fault or failing
For us. He gave the gift that is supernal.
It’s easier to find a peaceful slumber,
